Is it looking like your holiday cards will be New Years cards? It's okay!
I know a working mom who has to be at work before her daughter is awake most mornings, so her husband is the one that gets her daughter up and off to school. “I want to be there to say “have a great day” as she heads to the bus but that just isn’t possible most days. So she decided to FaceTime her daughter over breakfast, they have a 5 minute chat over a virtual bowl of cereal – discussing their activities for the day and what they will have for dinner that night. "It's our special time."
We tend to underestimate our children’s coping abilities. They would rather have one-on-one, uninterrupted time with you, then watching you melt down over sewing the perfect costume for the 3rd grade program. Focus on creating as much quality time together as you can and let go of the guilt. You are a great mom!
